So i have never seen a blog post about this so i thought i shall be the one.I mean i could be totally wrong but maybe one of you has always wanted this and i help you and that will be totally worth it.
These are in no particular order:
A SPATULA
This scrapes all the mix from the bowl, meaning you one don't waste ingredients and two don't make your self ill from eating raw cake mix,i know kill joy but eat it when it is actually safe. Also things are so much easier to clean with one of these tools.
A LARGE MIXING BOWL
You only ever really need one big mixing bowl to start with you can always use normal breakfast bowls if you ever need anymore.
GEL FOOD COLOURING
You barely ever can a use for liquid food colouring so you are much better off getting gel colouring and if you ever have a need for a liquid version you can always add a slight bit of clear alcohol or water to thin it out a little bit.Gel is a better formulation as you don't change the texture of the product you add it to.These Dr Oteker ones are good for any home baker.
HAND MIXER
This will save your arms and time because some recipes such as meringue is a real big pain without this and your probably will never get the air incorporated you need.
SQUARE AND ROUND TIN
I would personally go for a 8 inch of both sizes but i mean it is totally up to you and it depends on the amount of people you have to bake for. This will definitely build up as time goes on.Also a tip is the silicone versions are much easier to de-mould afterwards but you must make sure to let your cake completely cool before removing from the silicone tins .
BAKING SHEET
If you have this you can make anything that is not like a cake such as biscuits, meringues, honeycomb, pastry treats.I would only get the metal version of this as the sturdiness comes in handy.
PARCHMENT PAPER
This is important because you need to line you tins so that your baked goods don't stick because that a waste of money, time and effort. You could also use this to make piping bags which can be used to decorate cakes and cookies. It can also be called greaseproof paper but try and get the white one as i have always found that to be the most sturdy type.
